I loved the “expensive, Special” look; the pattern wasn’t quite what I thought it was (looked a bit more like a bamboo pattern online), it was very easy to assemble, and the adhesive worked very well ! I used it to place Perusal (sample) copies of original music composed by a friend in Argentina, as a gift my friend wanted to give the Director of the famous Los Angeles Master Chorale !!! I had to gently roll the scores, but it worked !! Thank You, Amazon !!I've bought larger iterations of this box that I loved, and felt I got higher value than what I paid, but this one was awful. Obviously my mistake for last minute ordering, but I didn't have time to return it and taped it shut, ruining the overall effect. The magnets didn't match up, and the entire box didn't pop up nicely as the others did. Very unimpressed.Did not close properly. Had to tape shut in order to use. Very disappointedIt stays openThese are easy to assemble, eye catching boxes, great to hold a bunch of stuff we wanted folks to grab one of at a gathering. They looked fun and festive, the color is bold and cheery, everything about it worked for us. (We kept the boxes open and weren't relying on the clasps, so can't comment on how well they stay closed for gifting purposes.)The box is is sturdy and attractive. It adds some class to a gift. Very satisfied. Looks great . Can be reused.I have a few special aunts I purchase gifts for at the holidays and I like to give gifts in beautiful gift boxes that can double as decorative storage for them to leave out on a shelf. I was intending to order this for me and then if I liked them to order a few more for my relatives. However, I found that the box wasn’t really staying closed for me so I probably will go with another option.What drew me to this particular gift box was not only the pretty gold color but especially the embossed gold lattice texture on the outside of the box. These look so classy! However, know that the embossing is not on the sides or the lid for some reason :( I planned to doctor these up by tying a ribbon with an ornament and some greenery to the top of the box… until I found that the magnets in the lid aren’t strong enough to keep these closed.What I love:• This is a good sized strong box. I am able to fit a pair of ankle boots inside or a thinner sweater, or scarf and socks, etc.• This box is so much thicker than the department store gift boxes of my childhood. You can put heavy items inside and it won’t fall apart on you.• The gold color with the design is so pretty.- This box folds together with an envelope-looking closure on the outside. You can make it look nicer by adding a bow - Works great in place of gift bags when you’re short on time.• The box is easy to assemble by removing covering off the sticky tape, folding the box up together and pressing for 10-15 seconds on the adhesive seams. The tape has stayed together well for me.• The box folds flat so they don’t take up a lot of storage room.Negatives:• The magnetic closure on this brand did not work well for me.• The boxes are heavy - I only use them for gifts I am giving in person.• Given that I can’t trust these to use for storage unless something heavy is placed on top of the box, I think that the price is high.This gift box has a very nice looking exterior. I have it in gold in the lattice texture. The finish is a high gloss and the lattice is lightly embossed, giving it a great look. The lattice finish is not present on the right and left sides of the box, however.The cardboard is thick, but the fit and finish is not as good as other boxes I've used. There's a small but noticeable gap between the lid and the sides which interferers with closing the box. You have to press the top a bit to get the magnets in the lid to catch and adhere. I've not had that issue with similar gift boxes.It comes packed flat, and assembly is simple: peel off the film on the 4 corners to expose the adhesive, then press the sides together. It takes all of a minute to assemble, and the adhesive grips very well.While the embossed design and the high gloss gold are great, the lack of embossing on the 2 sides plus the somewhat ill-fitting lid puts my score at 3 stars (average). It's an OK gift box, but better made options are available.
