The only downside is having to charge it after every use. But I think that's pretty standard with this type of product. My children love it I have a 2-year-old and a four year old. For now they can still fit in it together even though it is only a one-seater. My 4-year-old can drive it herself. Or drive her sister around. My 2-year-old I use the remote control to drive her around. I love how it can also cut the power to the Jeep regardless of who is controlling it at that moment. The killing the power switch is extremely useful when my cat or dog won't get out of the way and four year old doesn't really comprehend that. So I've definitely saved my animals from being squashed a few times. I've also stopped the kids from running into multiple objects. I also love being able to commandeer the vehicle even if my four-year-old is actively driving it. Just in case she's going into an area she shouldn't or maybe she's gotten stuck and she is panicking and can't get herself out. There is also a metal piece that is under the back side of the Jeep, it slides in and out, I have found this to be an extremely useful handle to pull the Jeep without pulling on the plastic. When it has died completely I've used this "handle" multiple times to actually pull it back to the shop to put it up. It's also useful for when it's stuck. The remote also has speed controls three settings. I do not believe the speed settings are effective when the Jeep is being powered manually. I believe the speed settings only work if you are using the remote control at that time. It also comes with a radio with a few preset songs. And apparently can also function as an actual radio. We absolutely love it and I would hands down purchase another one just like it. And then they can each have their own. This product is so amazing that my Yorkie enjoys riding in it as well. I have to make the children let her take turns while I drive her around using the remote. In my experience you will not regret purchasing this for your family.I will say assembly was not that difficult when my husband helped but he's also really good with hand tools. And it did come in two separate packages the body came in one package. And the wheels came in a different package.
